The Burshtyn Cultural Palace of Energy Workers "Prometheus" is a cultural palace in the city of Burshtyn, a significant cultural and artistic center of the city and Halych district, where numerous cultural and artistic creative teams operate. It is currently managed by the Burshtyn TPP. The Cultural Palace of Energy Workers "Prometheus" is located in a magnificent, purpose-built functional building on the cliff above the Burshtyn Reservoir.

The cultural palace was built in 1971 and immediately became not only an architectural adornment of Burshtyn but also the main center of culture and leisure for the city and the entire Opillia region. The authors of the volumetric mosaic that decorates the facade of the cultural palace are Viktor Elkonin and Yuriy Aleksandrov. The work was noted in numerous publications in architecture and art magazines of the 1970s. Both the complex itself and the square in front of it are traditional venues for various cultural events. In fact, the "Energy Workers' Palace" is the main stage (concert venue) of the city and the Opilnia region, where all the famous touring performers from Ukraine and the region perform. Various other cultural mass events, actions, shows, and trade exhibitions are also held here.

To carry out its activities, the palace has the appropriate material base, namely:

2 halls - a cinema-concert hall for 700 seats and a small hall for 250 seats;
a conference hall for 60 seats;
Museum of Liberation Struggles of Halych District;
a cafe-bar for visitors;
there is a wonderful library with a modern reading room, which many readers visit. Meetings with authors - writers, poets are held, interesting master classes are organized, and screenings of educational films for children and schoolchildren take place;
two sports halls;
premises for group and artistic creativity.

"Prometheus" has always played a role as one of the largest cultural centers of the city. Thanks to its capacities - spaces and technical equipment, it is ideally suited for holding cultural and social events - concerts, exhibitions, fairs, auctions of various profiles. The Cultural Palace "Prometheus" is also home to 11 professional creative teams, 6 creative groups, which are attended by about 500 children. "Prometheus" impresses with its large halls, numerous rooms for group and sectional activities, dressing rooms, and its greatest value – the artists.

The first director of the Cultural Palace was Volodymyr Ilyin, his work was continued by Hanna Hociayeva, and since 2000, the team has been led by Andriy Vishchuk. And for the last decade, the institution has been managed by Ruslana Shevchuk.

The pride of "Prometheus" and all of Prykarpattia in the 70s was the vocal-dance ensemble "Atlantic" (artistic director – Lyudmyla Stepaniuk), the choir of the medical unit workers, the folk dance ensemble "Vykhor", and the children's exemplary ensemble "Vohnyk" (led by Ivan and Halyna Pushkari). In the 80s, the folk women's vocal ensemble "Berehynia" (P. Bachynskyi) and the vocal ensemble "Smerichka" (Halyna Rymar) gained popularity.

During that time, the amateur dramatic group led by Hanna Hociayeva gained great popularity. Dramatic works by classic Ukrainian literature were staged on the stage of the Cultural Palace, and the drama group was invited to other cities and villages in the region. In the early 90s, the exemplary ballroom and pop dance ensemble "Perlina" (led by Iryna Tishchenko) shone with its talent – the men's choir "Homin" (led by Ivan Zobkiv) gained fame, and later a new creative team was formed – the men's choir "Dzyvin". At that time, the pop vocal-instrumental groups "Nyans" (Oleksandr Bandura) and vocal group "Perekhrestya" (I. Krutyholova) also began to operate.

For two decades, a vocal studio for pop performers has been operating at the Cultural Palace, led by a member of the National League of Composers of Ukraine Ihor Ivantsiv. In the creative workshop of composer I. Ivantsiv, a whole pleiad of famous artists has grown, including Oksana Hrytsai (Mika Newton), Oksana Romaniuk, Vitaliy Bobkovych, Hannusia Voronchak, Iryna Dydyk, Ihor Dmytryshyn, young winners of pop competitions-festivals Alina Chaban, Sofia Terletska, and other young vocalists.

In addition to the artistic self-activity groups, technical creativity groups, a philatelist club, sewing and cutting courses, foreign language courses, and a youth creative club "Black Swan" (led by Natalia Kobel) operated at the Cultural Palace.

In the early 2000s, the cultural and mass and children's sectors began to work creatively in "Prometheus", managed by Ruslana Hociayeva and Oleksandra Hutnyk. Under the leadership of Nadiya Yakymovych, the newly created vocal trio "Verbonyka" sings melodiously.

In 2002, 20 creative teams of cultural-artistic and technical directions actively operated in this institution, with more than five hundred residents of Burshtyn and surrounding villages participating.

Based on the exemplary ensemble of ballroom and pop dance "Perlina", the district public youth organization "Oberih" began to operate in 2004, led by Ruslana Hociayeva. "Oberih" contributed to the involvement of Burshtyn youth in active participation in the artistic life of the city. And no festive event in Burshtyn is complete without the brass band led by Vasyl Kuziiv.

The main direction of work at the Cultural Palace is the development of artistic self-activity. However, the work of the team is not limited to this. On the stage of the Burshtyn Cultural Palace of Energy Workers "Prometheus", professional performers often perform, professional theaters stage performances, competitions, festivals, theatrical holidays, exhibitions, discos, and themed evenings are held. In total, there are 18 groups of artistic self-activity in the energy workers' palace, with more than 300 participants, of which about 250 are children and teenagers.

The Museum of Liberation Struggles of Halych District is located in the Palace of Energy Workers. The museum contains collected materials about the events of World War II in the region, prominent figures, and the work of the local intelligentsia of that time. There are over 300 photographs, weapons, models of hideouts, archival documents, and maps of combat operations.

At the initiative of the Brotherhood of OUN-UPA of the Halych district and the society of political prisoners and repressed of the Halych district, the OUN-UPA Museum was established in 1996 and approved by the decision of the extraordinary Halych district session on March 8, 1998. The initiative group was headed by Filariet Skaskiv, then the head of the district Brotherhood. Following the death of F. Skaskiv, Mykola Yatskiv became the head of the organizing committee in November 1998 - the head of the district Brotherhood of OUN-UPA. In less than three years, more than 3500 visitors have been here.

The museum's exhibition was replenished with the assistance of the district authorities, city and village councils, educators, librarians, and patriotic activists. A significant success was the restoration and presentation on museum stands of the names of repressed and murdered residents of Halych district during the reign of the Soviet authorities - 1630 people. The museum contains models of hideouts where UPA soldiers hid during raids, as well as some types of weapons used at that time.

The Cultural Palace "Prometheus" is not just an architectural decoration of the city or a home for many creative teams. In fact, it is the main stage of the entire Opillia, demonstrating to everyone the strength of the human spirit, talent, and art.
