Vaskul (Vaskul) is a mountain in the Chornohora massif (Ukrainian Carpathians). Vaskul (1730 m) is the foothill of Pop Ivan on the southwestern side. On the top of the mountain there is a wooden pillar with the name of the mountain and directional signs.

One of the routes from Rakhiv to the Baltsatul meadow via Vaskul Mountain. Duration: 9 hours. Route length: 17 km, altitude difference - 1330 m. The route starts in Rakhiv, passes through the valley of the Bila Tysa River and along the Lemsky Lis tract, then through the valley of the Velykyi Baltsatul stream, then up the mountain Vaskul (1730 m), complicated by crooked forests and juniper thickets. The road continues with a rocky ascent to Pip Ivan Montenegrin (Chorna Hora, 2029 m) and a descent to the Balsatul meadow.

On the route you can see:

  • Roman Catholic Church of St. John Nepomuk (1822-1825), Rakhiv;
  • Carpathian Biosphere Reserve;
  • the ruins of the Polish astronomical and meteorological observatory White Elephant on Mount Pip Ivan Montenegrin.
