Church of the Heart of Jesus and the Heart of Mary, Dolyna

The parish of the Heart of Jesus and the Heart of Mary in Dolyna, Ivano-Frankivsk Metropolia of the UGCC, was founded in 1992. Since 1904, there was a German church on this site, where evangelicals who lived in the German colonies of Brochky and Obliska (now the streets of Dolyna) prayed. It was a rectangular building built in the Gothic style. The entrance was from B. Khmelnytskoho Street, accentuated by a tetrahedral tower with a steep tetrahedral roof topped with a cross. The cemetery of this church was located on B. Khmelnytskoho street. Now it is occupied by a gas station and a market.

From 1939 to 1950 this building was empty, and from 1950 it was a mechanical workshop. Since 1952 it has been the Oil Workers' Club and since 1971 the House of Pioneers. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the building was reorganized into a religious building.

The community, created under the leadership of Fr. Vitold Levytskyi, enthusiastically took up the restoration of the church, and in 1992 the first services began. Since 1992, considerable physical and financial efforts have been made to return this house to a religious building and to create appropriate conditions for the interior and exterior decoration of the church, the convenience and comfort of parishioners, and appropriate conditions for the education and upbringing of children and youth.

On January 7, 1993, Bishop Iryney (Bilyk) consecrated the first part of the church, and on January 7, 2007, Bishop Volodymyr (Viytyshyn) together with Bishop Iryney (Bilyk) completed the consecration of the church. The parish has also been visited by Bishops Sophron (Dmyterko), Sophron (Mudry), Joseph (Milian), and Gregory (Lonchyna).

The church is a very interesting sacred building. The church features two iconostases and a Christmas shop that can be visited throughout the year. There are catechetical classes, a dormitory building that serves as an overnight accommodation for participants of spiritual camps and pilgrims in need, and a children's playroom where parents and their children can participate in the Divine Liturgy.

The parish uses various areas of pastoral activity: catechesis of children and youth, master classes; sports games, competitions, quizzes, fun starts, excursions, trips, organization of holidays, spiritual missions, charity events, and annual summer spiritual camps. On the initiative of Fr. Vitold Levytskyi, the Cardinal Myroslav Ivan Lubachivskyi Festival-Contest of Ukrainian spiritual contemporary song "With a Song to God" is held annually. The church houses the relics of St. Panteleimon the Healer and the blessed Ukrainian martyrs of the twentieth century - Bishop Vasyl Velychkovsky, Fr.
