Sokilsky Ridge is located between the villages of Velykyi Rozhyn in Kosiv district and Tyudiv. It is a rocky cliff, the height of the cliffs reaches 100 meters and the length is 250 meters. The Cheremosh River flows nearby (80 km long). The ridge is popular among tourists. The height above sea level is 940.

The ridge stretches for 15 km between the Cheremosh and Rybnytsia rivers. There are 20 sandstone cliffs on the ridge. In the middle of the 18th century, the founder of the Hasidic Judaism, Isoaelben Elazar, lived in one of the caves. An obelisk to Taras Shevchenko is erected on the Tudiv Rock. From the top of the ridge you can enjoy magnificent views of the Pysanyi Kamen, Igrets, Khomynskyi. The ridge starts in Sokolivka and ends in Tyudiv.

We recommend bringing a climbing rope, a system and several carabiners. In the middle of the route there is a unique photo location "Dovbush's Tongue" or Bukovyna Troll's Tongue". The route is easy and suitable for family hiking. You can learn the basics of climbing on the rocks. According to legend, the name of the ridge comes from the falcons that nested in those parts. According to another legend, every year on Ivan Kupala, the Hutsuls used to make sacrifices to the gods, Beloboh and Chornoboh, on the ridge. Once the gifts were not enough, and a fight broke out between the gods. Biloboh began to lose, and the local king, Hutsul, dared to mock him. But Biloboh won, and he cursed King Hutsul and threw him to the bottom of the mountain. Now, once a year, the king comes back to life on the night of Ivan Kupala, and the god releases seven falcons from his room, which fly around the Sokilskyi Ridge seven times. The march passes through the village of Babyn, and from here the road goes up to the Sokilsky rocks on the ridge.

You will get an adrenaline rush, enjoy your trip!
