Мальовничий водограй Скакало знаходиться недалеко від селища Чинадійово. Гідрологічна пам’ятка природи розташована на невеличкому гірському потоці, що впадає в річку Матекова – праву притоку Латориці. Прогулянка до водоспаду не потребує дуже багато часу та зусиль, тому тут часто можна побачити багатьох бажаючих помилуватися водограєм.
The untouched nature of our Carpathians has always enchanted tourists, as if by some love potion. Some locations are so popular among guests that the local population decided to make this very untouched nature not so untouched, for which it was decided to properly arrange the surrounding area. In fact, Skakalo can be classified as one of those places – a beautiful waterfall that cascades down the steep cliffs of the picturesque valley of Lower Hrabovyshche.
The waterfall got its name because its stream seems to jump over the stones – as if it is skipping. A well-maintained path leads to Skakalo, so that every guest of Transcarpathia can fully appreciate the incredible beauty of this natural hydrological monument.
Of course, if we compare Skakalo with other waterfalls of the Carpathians, it can confidently be called a "baby", as its height is only 4 m. And what is this, for example, against the 14-meter height of the cascades of Shypit? However, although Skakalo has only 3 small cascades, it undoubtedly deserves respect and should still be recognized as a worthy competitor to its much taller counterparts. This is all because it is located in an extraordinarily picturesque area.
Getting to Skakalo is very easy. The nearest settlement is the village of Chynadiyovo. From there to the waterfall is only 3.5 km, which can be covered at a leisurely pace in 1-1.5 hours.
