Healing and Wellness Complex "Eko-Thermal" Kosino

The Healing and Wellness Complex "Eko-Thermal" Kosino is located in the village of Koson in the Transcarpathian region, 27 km from the city of Mukachevo. This is a wonderful opportunity for health improvement and relaxation in an ecologically clean corner of Transcarpathia. The healing thermal water in our complex is unique in its chemical composition. Thermal waters similar to those of the Koson deposit can only be found in Iceland, Kamchatka, and New Zealand.

The depth of the well with thermal water is almost 1200 meters. Hot water, passing through various mineral layers of the earth's crust, is enriched with many microelements and minerals. The healing properties of the water from "Eko-Thermal" Koson deposit were confirmed by the "Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Resortology of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" No. 99 dated December 12, 2006. According to the balneological conclusion, the thermal waters of the Koson deposit are intended for external use for the following diseases:

• musculoskeletal system: arthrosis, osteochondrosis, arthritis, polyarthritis, consequences of joint fractures, diseases of joint tissues;
• cardiovascular diseases: hypertension stage I-II, with circulatory disorders not higher than stage I;
• peripheral nervous system: injuries of nerve endings and plexuses, diseases of the nervous system, radiculitis, polyradiculoneuritis;
• peripheral vessels: atherosclerosis of limb vessels, endarteritis with circulatory disorders of the lower limbs I – II degree, acroangioneurosis, varicose veins;
• biliary system: chronic acalculous cholecystitis, dyskinesia of the bile ducts, condition after cholecystectomy.

For the most effective health improvement, it is recommended to stay in the thermal water pool for 15-20 minutes, after which a rest should be taken. The procedure should be repeated 3 times a day.

Contraindications: all acute diseases; chronic diseases in the stage of exacerbation; oncological, hematological diseases; tuberculosis (all forms); infectious diseases; post-traumatic syndrome not earlier than 3 months after injury; varicose disease up to 1 year after acute thrombophlebitis; rheumatoid arthritis II-III degree; severe pain syndrome; hypertension II-III degree; unstable angina, angina of effort III-IV FC; liver cirrhosis.

Overall, thermal water has a general health-improving effect on the body, filling it with necessary substances and microelements for normal functioning.

• Deluxe Double Room No. 12, 13 (for 2 + buffet breakfast, sauna) - A double room equipped with kitchenware, barbecue utensils, and an electric kettle. There are 5 Deluxe Double Rooms with 1 bed on the premises, total area of the room – 18 sq.m. The rooms of this category are quiet and peaceful. Each room is equipped with a comfortable work desk, double bed, tea set, and free internet access – Wi-Fi. All bathrooms have shower cabins, hairdryer, and toiletries.
• Deluxe No. 11 (for 4 + buffet breakfast, sauna) - total number of such rooms – 5. The area of the room is – 25 sq.m. The rooms are decorated in a classic style with high ceilings and carpet. The room has one or two beds, a wardrobe, a large dressing table, a kettle, a safe, and a comfortable armchair. There is an option to accommodate a third person. The bathroom is equipped with a shower cabin, hairdryer, and toiletries. Each room has a small terrace with a table and chairs. Free internet access - Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises.
• Family Suite No. 41 for 4 persons (including four buffet breakfasts in the restaurant) - Maximum number of guests – 4. The "Suite" has – 58 sq.m. The interior is decorated in a classic style with high ceilings and parquet. The room includes: a spacious living room with a flat-screen TV and satellite TV, air conditioning, coffee table, and a large corner sofa; a bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, and dressing table with a large mirror. Also, a spacious kitchen of 20 sq.m., which includes a refrigerator, electric stove with a glass-ceramic surface, microwave, kettle, cooler with spring water, and a large table for 6 persons. The room has a large bathroom with toiletries and a hairdryer, and access to a spacious terrace with a table and chairs. Free WiFi is provided.
• Two-bedroom Suite - maximum number of guests – 6 persons. Room area - 55 sq.m. The interior of the room is decorated in a classic style with high ceilings and laminate flooring. The room includes: a spacious living room with a flat-screen TV and satellite TV, corner sofa, coffee table, refrigerator; two bedrooms with a double bed 1.8*2.0, safe, wardrobe, and two nightstands. The bathroom is equipped with a shower cabin, toilet, and sink with toiletries and a hairdryer. Free WiFi is provided. The room rate includes: breakfast for all guests, parking, and pool access.
• Budget Room with Two Separate Beds (ECONOM option, only accommodation and use of pools) - total number of such rooms – 24. The rooms are located on the second and third floors. The area of the room is – 16 sq.m. The room has two beds, a wardrobe, two nightstands, a table, a mirror, and a hanger. The bathroom is shared on the floor – male and female, with a hairdryer and toiletries.
• One-bedroom Suite No. 31 for two persons (including two buffet breakfasts in the restaurant) - Suite with a mini-kitchen equipped with a stove and kettle/coffee maker.
• Family Half-Suite with Two Bedrooms No. 21 (for 4 + buffet breakfasts) - A double room equipped with barbecue utensils, kitchenware, and kettle/coffee maker.

• ECO – HOUSE: No. 1,2 - 1st floor (windows and balcony overlooking the pools) 2-person rooms, 2 buffet breakfasts; No. 3,4 (windows and balcony overlooking the forest) 2-person rooms, 2 buffet breakfasts; No. 5 (windows and balcony overlooking the pools) 2-room 4-person room 2nd floor, 4 buffet breakfasts; No. 6 - 2nd floor – (balcony overlooking the pools) – room for two persons, (including two buffet breakfasts); No. 7, 8 - 2nd floor - room for 2 persons, (including two buffet breakfasts).

Since ancient times, people have turned to the healing powers of water and knew that healing springs with "living water" exist. Hydrotherapy has been popular since the times of the Roman Empire: even then, visiting thermal resorts was a characteristic part of urban life and a symbol of prosperity. Thermal waters come from the Greek word "therma" – "heat", "warmth". Waters with temperatures of 37-42 degrees are considered thermal, above that – hyperthermal, and when the water temperature is 20-37 degrees, the springs are called warm or subthermal. The thermal water in our pools has the most favorable temperature for health improvement – 38-39 degrees.

The heat of underground waters is obtained from the surrounding mountain rocks at depths of the earth, often located in deep parts of artesian basins and in volcanic areas (in this case, they emerge in the form of geysers). With increasing temperature, mineralization increases, and the concentration of sodium, fluoride, sulfate ions, chloride ions, and other beneficial substances rises. Thus, temperature is one of the main factors affecting the chemical composition and balneological properties of water. It has been noted that the hotter the spring, the higher its mineralization: the concentration of beneficial substances increases. Therefore, temperature is one of the main factors affecting the chemical composition and healing properties of water.

How does thermal water heal?

Basic treatment procedures with thermal waters include baths (or staying in the pool), drinking thermal water, and inhaling thermal water vapors.

In which diseases is health improvement with thermal water beneficial?

• Spinal arthrosis – regardless of localization and stage of the disease, the use of thermal waters allows achieving positive results in a fairly short time.
• Hip arthrosis – it is advisable to start treatment immediately after the diagnosis has been made, for example, as a result of X-ray examination, and upon the appearance of the first pain sensations.
• Consequences of injuries – developed thermal procedure programs allow for successful treatment of the consequences of sports, automotive, domestic injuries, as well as orthopedic patients. As a rule, procedures are conducted in a pool with thermal water, where the most comfortable conditions for the patient are achieved for undergoing procedures.
