The park is beautiful, wonderful, incredible atmosphere, always a lot of people, a great dog park, a large playground. Lots of paths and benches for relaxation. Located close to the center. The oldest of Lviv's central parks, located in front of the Ivan Franko University building. The area is 10.5140 hectares.

History.

The park was owned by the wealthy Scholz-Wolfowicz family. In the 16th century, Jan Scholz-Wolfowicz laid out a small garden, which later passed into the hands of his son-in-law Antonio Masari. The Venetian redesigned the garden in the Italian style and donated it to the city for all Lviv residents to enjoy. The gardener Bauer carries out a radical reconstruction of the park. In 1877-1881, beautiful gardens were arranged in the lower part of the park, and trimmed bushes and trees decorated the park. In 1835, a graceful rotunda gazebo was built in the middle of the park, which is still preserved. The park changed hands several more times, but this did not save it from desolation until 1855, when it was again taken care of by the city.

In 1614, the city authorities handed the park over to Jesuit monks, who began building a church and a monastery in Lviv. They also built a brewery and leased some of the land to peasants. Ivan Hecht reconstructed the park and tried to make it profitable. A restaurant, a swimming pool, etc. were built. In 1908, architect Karol Richtman-Rudniewski designed a summer theater to stand on the site of the restaurant. The project was never realized. In 1946, the monument to Agenor Romuald Holuchowski was dismantled. The Polish state refused to transport it from Lviv, so the monument was destroyed, and in its place in 1949 a cast-iron vase was installed, which still stands today. In 1999, McDonald's wanted to place a McDrive restaurant in the park, but the city administration rejected the project.
