Strukivska (Ascension) Church, Yasinia
The Church of the Ascension or Strukiv is the real pride of the village of Yasinia and the entire Hutsul region. It was built in the beginning of 1824 on the slopes of Kosterivka, a surprisingly beautiful mountain.
The church got its second name from the local shepherd Ivan Struk. And this is not surprising, because his name is associated with the foundation of the church itself. This amazing story is known by all the locals and they are happy to share it with visitors.
The church has five log cabins, a cruciform layout and a dome made in the shape of an octagon. It is built entirely of natural wood.
The temple consists of three tiers, so it seems more massive and heavy. Not far from it is the bell tower, which was built a little earlier than the church itself - in 1813. Its height reaches 11 meters.
Strukivska church is one of the most striking and significant monuments of folk architecture of the Hutsul region.
