Historical and local history museum of Kosmach village

The KosmachHistorical and Local Lore Museum is a historical and local lore house museum in the village of Kosmach, Kosiv district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, which covers its history, spiritual and cultural life, artistic and decorative traditions. The museum in Kosmachi is a neat village hut that houses the private collection of Liubov Lartsabyuk. The museum is located in the central part of the village. Year of foundation of the museum: 1999. The main activities of the museum are: studying the history of the village since the beginning of the 18th century; traditions, folklore, Easter eggs, weaving, embroidery, life, household items.

The expositions of the house-museum introduce the historical past of the village, its spiritual life, culture and traditions. Each room covers a specific topic. The largest of them relates to the life of Patriarch Volodymyr, who served in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul from 1968 to 1972. The exhibits presented in this room tell about the churches of the village. Icons and other church items are kept here. A separate corner is dedicated to V. Chornovil, who was baptized by Patriarch Volodymyr. The second room of the museum is devoted to exhibits that tell the story of the village since its foundation. The third room houses household items, clothing, weaving products, and a collection of Easter eggs.

The exposition is located in 3 rooms:

• The first room tells about the history of the village of Kosmach from ancient times; it also contains materials about the construction of churches; societies that operated here; and photo documents of O. Novakivskyi;
• The next exposition is dedicated to the life and work of Patriarch Volodymyr (née Vasyl Romanyuk), who served in the local church of Peter and Paul in 1968-72. It also covers the history of the Kosmach churches and the church of the village of Akryshora. There are icons and church items on display. There is a corner dedicated to Vyacheslav Chornovil, who was baptized by Patriarch Volodymyr, and documents about the Sixtiers who came to Kosmach;
• the third hall presents an exposition of modern Kosmach clothing and weaving products; there is also a collection of Easter eggs and household items.
