Igrets Ridge

TheIgrets Ridge stretches from the Brusturka River valley to the Bukovets Pass. The highest peak of the ridge is Chornyi Hrun, with a height of 1387.5 meters.

Chornyi Hrun divides the ridge into two parts. The eastern part, towards the Bukovets Pass, has a gently undulating, mostly open, mountain meadow character. It offers magnificent panoramas of Chornohora, the Hrynava, Chyvchyna, and Pokuttya Carpathians. It was here, in ancient pre-Christian times, that our distant sun-worshipping ancestors held ritual "games".

The smaller western part of the ridge is dominated by stone placers (gregetas), which are a geological natural monument of local importance. They are densely overgrown with dense, difficult-to-pass spruce forests.

In the vicinity of Snidavka, there is a unique ancient rock sanctuary - "Ternoshorskaya Lada", ritual stones, small picturesque waterfalls.

From the Bukovetsky Pass, turning left, you can reach the Pysanyi Kamen, and if you walk sharply to the right despite the Church of the Holy Ascension, you can reach Mount Igrets in an hour and a half at a normal pace.

Although the mountain is not very tall, it looks formidable and frowning, so it seems that it will take you all day to reach its top. This is probably due to the fact that the mountain is quite steep, and almost all of it is bald, with almost no forest, which appears in small oases in the middle of the valleys and on the mountain's spire. It is because there is little forest on the mountain that unforgettable views of the surrounding mountains open from the top. And you should definitely go there in the fall, because you won't find such a colorful variety of colors at any other time of the year. From here, you can see all the surrounding Pokutsko-Bukovyna, Hryniavski, Kostrych, Chonohora and Chyvchyny mountains with the Maramoroska massif.
