The Mushroom Museum opens its doors to the fabulous and amazing world of mushrooms and forests. They know everything about mushrooms here!

Although the museum was opened only in 2019, the building in which it is located is an old wooden Hutsul hut transported from the mountains. It will be interesting for both adults and children, who will be able to feel like tiny inhabitants of a giant forest. So far, there are only models here, but in a few years the owner promises to have real mushrooms growing in the yard, which the museum knows everything about.

Sitting on the porch in the Starovitsky house, you can:

listen to interesting stories about mushrooms from the museum owner Yurii Solomchenko;
taste mushroom soup and banush with mushrooms;
feel the coziness of a fairy-tale forest;
look through the windows and see a strange forest with giant mushrooms.

In the museum you can learn everything about mushrooms! You can buy them and even taste mushroom dishes on the grill.

Often when people pick mushrooms, they neglect important information about the safety of mushrooms. For all mushroom lovers, the museum will conduct a tour and tell you which mushrooms are instantly poisonous and which have a toxic effect that manifests itself after years and causes liver cirrhosis.

Mushrooms are markers of the state of the environment. Therefore, mushrooms should be collected only in ecologically clean places where there is no industrial and other pollution. They can tell you everything about the environment! These mushrooms accumulate specific toxic substances and can cause poisoning.

The central position in the museum is occupied by the boletus, or white mushroom. According to the museum owner, the porcini mushroom is rightfully considered the king among these plants, and the chanterelle is called the queen. Hutsuls are so fond of them that sometimes mushrooms even become currency. However, some of the caps on their legs can be seriously dangerous.

Therefore, you should always be vigilant in this matter and pick mushrooms only in ecologically clean places where there is no industrial and other pollution. Be aware and take care of your health.

The Mushroom Museum is located in the village of Iltsi, which borders Verkhovyna. In the village of Iltsi, right after the church, you need to turn to the river and drive along a dirt road for 2 minutes.
