It was built in the 16th century. An Italian merchant Roberto Bandinelli, who received Lviv citizenship, bought the house and started a classic European-style post office. The name of the building comes from the merchant's name. In 1629, the Polish King Sigismund III Vasa granted the privilege of maintaining the royal mail and the title of royal postmaster. Lviv residents sent and received letters from all over Europe every Saturday, but the services were quite expensive. Sending six grams of correspondence was equal to the daily wage of a craftsman. Paper was heavy at the time, and the Lviv City Council refused to provide expensive services. Bandinelli invested a lot of money in this business, but the Council's actions ruined him.

In 1737-1739, the building was rebuilt with buttresses. An inscription on the facade testifies to this fact. Elements of white stone carvings remain on the door and window decorations. The portal and windows framed by dolphins remain original. The dolphins are meant to protect from dangers. In the 19th century, the building housed the Vilda bookstore, a club of Lviv intellectuals. The Polish poet Cornel Ujski lived in the house. In the late seventies, the building's emergency condition was revealed. Repairs did more harm than good. The house was handed over to restorers. The repairs and restoration lasted for 26 years. The grand opening took place on December 18, 2005. Thanks to the drawings that have survived from those times, the style of the room and the design of the furniture have been recreated. Now it hosts exhibitions under the auspices of the museum. 2008 as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Ensemble's inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The grand opening of the postal museum took place in the palace. A wonderful combination of interiors and exhibits to convey the style of the time. Unique exhibits, an interesting tour, this is the place to start exploring Lviv, we recommend.
