The spawning ban is strict: usually from April 10 to June 20. You choose the format of the trip — from wild camping on the rocky shores of Khmelnytskyi to comfortable bases with boat rentals in Lomachyntsi, Rudkivtsi, and Neporotove. Fishing is free (the entire water area cannot be legally rented), the water is clear, depths up to 12 m, with plenty of roach, perch, pike, crucian carp, and rudd. The reservoir is not artificially stocked — fish thrive through natural reproduction. Honest downsides: dirt road access (full drive is needed after rain), heavily overgrown shores (more effective fishing from a boat), poaching nets, and concerns about fish safety due to its industrial past. If someone demands payment "for the lake" on the way in — it is either for entry to a neighboring private pond or an illegal "fee at the barrier".
Shchyretske Reservoir (Navariya): Fishing near Lviv
