The Belgian conductor invites you to a concert in Lviv. Professor of The Hague and Brussels conservatories, Belgian violinist and conductor, renowned interpreter of ancient music Sigiswald Kuijken will perform in Lviv with our orchestra "Collegium Musicum". On Sunday, at the House of Organ Music, they will perform works by Mozart, Brahms, and Beethoven. The event is organized as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Belgium.

"This is very, very beautiful music. The listeners should come not for me, but for Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven. And for quality art that makes your life better, that benefits your heart, that inspires you," said Belgian conductor Sigiswald Kuijken.

Craft Beer & Vinyl Music Festival

In recent years, craft beer has rapidly displaced mass-produced alcoholic beverages from the lives of Ukrainians, including Lviv residents. Over the past few years, more and more pubs have opened in our city that are clearly focused on selling craft beer. Existing pubs are increasingly forced to pay attention to this and also reorient themselves towards this new type of beer. All major retail chains have shelves with craft beer in their departments. The number of visitors to craft pubs is a great example that fans of alcoholic beverages are willing to pay more to taste natural beer with an original flavor rather than a mass-produced product from plastic bottles.

On April 29, the festival will end, which takes place in Pidzamche, on the territory of the former glass factory transformed into the !FESTrepublic club. During the event, Zero Waste principles are applied, and containers for separate waste collection are installed. Organic waste, paper, metal, glass, plastic, and mixed waste will be collected separately.

These are not the usual mass beer festivals. This is a place where people come to get acquainted with new beer varieties. Craft beer festivals are more like a sommelier meeting, where you are poured 150 grams of craft for tasting, not to get drunk. Interestingly, at the Lviv craft festival, you will be able to taste not only beer but also music. The "Craft Beer & Vinyl Music Festival" will gather the best collectors of vinyl records, manufacturers of professional sound equipment, and music lovers.

Another important component of the "Craft Beer & Vinyl Music Festival" is the meeting of brewers from all over Ukraine. Here they will discuss a common strategy for promoting craft beer and countering large beer corporations that, through their lobbying, are trying to "suppress" the development of craft brewing in Ukraine. It can even be said that a kind of uprising of small brewers may begin in Lviv.

Unique Exhibition 50/50 at the National Museum in Lviv

On April 27, at the Lviv National Museum named after Andrey Sheptytsky, located at 20 Svobody Avenue, the exhibition of sculptor Viktor Prodanchuk and artist Taras Hryhoruk titled "50/50" opened at 16:00.

Taras Hryhoruk is an artist who belongs to the luminaries of contemporary Ukrainian art and is a representative of the young generation of Ukrainian nonconformist artists of the 20th century. The exhibition of his works is dedicated to the artist's fiftieth anniversary. The artist is known outside Ukraine, particularly in France, where he studied at the National School of Fine Arts (École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts) in Paris, and his works are presented in art galleries, museums, and private collections around the world. Ethnic motifs of Hutsulshchyna and the Carpathian region are always present in Taras Hryhoruk's paintings. In his works, the artist combined the achievements of Ukrainian and European artistic schools. The artist's work reflects a desire to enter the global artistic context while preserving national uniqueness. Taras Hryhoruk's works have been successful at world auctions, including Sotheby's and Phillips. Hryhoruk is also part of the group of artists who revived Ukrainian painting on glass and brought it from folk to professional artistic space.

Viktor Prodanchuk works with sculpture, combining Trypillian motifs and ultra-modern art, using innovative approaches to working with plastic. Viktor Prodanchuk's works are extraordinary and ambiguous. The main task of his sculpture is to evoke emotions. Therefore, no viewer remains indifferent.

The exhibition will be made unique by works that combine painting and sculpture. The creative experiment of Taras Hryhoruk manifested in the fact that the sculptures of Viktor Prodanchuk became the canvas for his artistic ideas, and thus they together became the founders of a new artistic direction.

The opening of the "50/50" exhibition will be attended by renowned art critics, artists, the mayor of Lviv, and the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration. The exhibition will last until May 18. After Lviv, the project will be taken to Dnipro, Kyiv, and abroad.

Enraged, she finds Snow White and, disguised as a beggar, gives her an apple filled with magical poison, causing the princess to fall as if lifeless. But only a magical prince, whose heart is filled with sincere love, can break the evil spell.

The Exhibition of Embroidery "Cultural Space of Donetsk Region" Continues

Until May 20, at the Ivan Franko Museum, located at 150/152 Ivana Franka Street, the exhibition "Cultural Space of Donetsk Region. Lyudmyla OHNIEVA: Ukrainian Embroidery" will last.

"This is only part of the embroidered works of Lyudmyla Ohnyeva – what her friends managed to save and take out from the occupied territory. Each cycle of works is a wonderful tool for enlightenment. The stories of the master about embroidery can be listened to endlessly – they impress with the depth of knowledge, infused with love for the maternal national craft, the fatherland. She tries to pass on her experience to the youth, gathering around her like-minded and talented patriots.

This exhibition has been traveling across Ukraine since 2015: Kyiv (twice), Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv (twice), Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, now - Lviv. There are invitations from Dnipro, Chyhyryn, Chernihiv (for the third time). The organizers of the exhibition are museums and the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Ukrainian Registered Cossacks". Last year, for this exhibition in Ivano-Frankivsk, they awarded Ms. Lyudmyla Ohnyeva with the "Order of Semen Vysotskyi".

A person of indomitable character, purposeful and tireless worker, Ms. Lyudmyla, after being forcibly displaced from her native Donetsk to Kyiv, continues her active creative activity. She searches for, studies, and recreates embroidered miniatures, patterns of towels, and embroidered shirts of outstanding Ukrainians on canvas. It seems that embroidery has become her life, salvation, a thread that invisibly connects her with the long-suffering Donbas. Tirelessly working, the modest and unpretentious woman finds the strength to help her fellow comrades and Ukrainian patriots who remained in the occupied enemy Donetsk land, and sincerely cares about their problems.

Ms. Lyudmyla also continues her journalistic and publishing activities. She is not only a special correspondent but also the deputy chief editor of the newspaper "Ukrainian Cossack", and continues to research the life and work of Ukrainian patriots of the sixties. In 2015, the publishing house "Smoloskyp" released a large book "Alla Horskaya. The Soul of Ukrainian Sixtiers" edited by her, which was included in the list of the best publications of the Forum at the last 23rd Publishers Forum in Lviv.

And Lyudmyla Ohnyeva's book "Warrior of the Army of the Immortal" gave impetus to the creation of documentary films about Vasyl Makukh, who burned himself in 1968 on Khreshchatyk. At the presentation of this film in May last year, there were government officials who supported the initiative of Donetsk residents to establish a memorial plaque at the place of burning. It was opened on January 26 this year in Kyiv on Khreshchatyk, 27.

So we invite you to get acquainted with an interesting and informative page of Ukrainian cultural life in the Donetsk region – and with the enormous contribution of one person who built and continues to build in Ukraine – UKRAINE," the organizers note.

The Erotic-Romantic Exhibition Opened by Lviv Artist Anna Atoyan

In the "Green Sofa" gallery, artist Anna Atoyan presents a series of her latest works united under the title "Touch".

Anna Atoyan does not exhibit often, once every 2 years, but each time with success. "Any exhibition is a new theme. This time it is romantic, lyrical, even erotic themes. They say that there hasn't been anything so romantic for a long time. So I am glad that this time I made a spring exhibition," said the artist.

The series "Touch" includes school memories, seasoned with antique frames, romantic plots, and a bit of eroticism. But all with a subtle irony.

"Anya has such smart humor, where there is comedy on the verge of tragedy, where there is irony, she mocks some life situations and illustrates it in her own original style," said the curator of the exhibition Olesya Domaradzka.

Art lovers and artists themselves always curiously observe Anna Atoyan's unique technique. She reveals only one of her secrets - it is painting on silk.

The exhibition will last until May 9.
