Літературно-меморіальний музей Василя Стефаника – культурологічна площадка, присвячена життю та творчості відомого українського письменника, майстра експресіоністичної новели, громадського діяча та політика Василя Семеновича Стефаника (1871-1936).
Museum (its memorial part) was opened in May 1941 in honor of the 70th anniversary of the birth of the talented Ukrainian writer in Rusiv (Ivano-Frankivsk region), his native village. It is here that Vasyl Semenovych was born, lived, and is buried in the village cemetery.
The museum is located in the house that Stefanyk built himself in 1910. It is in this house that the writer lived for 26 years – until his death. It is known that Vasyl Semenovych loved his homestead very much and, in particular, the working room where he not only worked on his writings but also enjoyed spending time talking with villagers who came for advice on various family and household matters.
The modern museum consists of two parts – memorial and literary, which are located in two separate buildings: the memorial part was opened in 1941, as mentioned, in Stefanyk's native house, and the literary part – in 1991 in a specially constructed building.
The museum exhibition consists of numerous household items, interior items, furniture, books, magazines, portraits, photographs, and various archival documents that tell about the life and creativity of the talented son of Ukraine.
