Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, Skole

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary appeared in Skole in 1896. Before it was built, there was only one wooden church in the small town, surrounded by mountains on all sides, St. Paraskeva (now St. Panteleimon). Both churches belong to the Greek Catholic parish. This parish is the largest in Skole.

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, being more modern, immediately became the main church.

From 1944 to 1945, the church was renovated. During this period, services were held in the Church of St. Panteleimon.

By the way, guests of Skole should definitely see not only the Greek Catholic Church, but also other historical buildings of this city. For example, the Palace of Barons Gradley, where orphans now study, or the houses of former Skole magnates. A unique natural park, the Skole Beskydy, stretches next to the town lost among the mountains.
