Yablunytskyi pass, Yablunytsia

Yablunytskyi Pass is a transportation artery that connects Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions. There are observation decks on the pass that offer a beautiful and breathtaking view of the Hoverla, Petros and Svydovets mountains.

Yablunytsia Pass is also the highest in the Ukrainian Carpathians - 931 meters above sea level. You can often hear that this pass is called "Tatar" because in the 13th century the Mongol-Tatar horde used this route to Europe.

However, Yablunytsia Pass is known not only for its scenery. There is a souvenir market here all year round. Here you can not only buy traditional Hutsul things, such as woolen socks, embroidered shirts or kotsy, but also eat plenty of Carpathian dishes.

If you're going to vacation in Bukovel and the prices for resort housing don't suit you, you can stay in the village of Yablunytsia, which is located near the pass. And in the village itself there are 6 ski slopes, the total length of which is about 4 kilometers. By the way, a new road has been built from Yablunytsia to Bukovel. Now it is much easier to get to the most famous Ukrainian winter resort. There is plenty of transportation to Bukovel.

If you are traveling to these places on your own four wheels, then you should take the Lviv-Rakhiv highway to the Yablunytsia Pass.

If you go by train to Yablunytsia, then only with a change in Vorokhta, Lazeshchyna or Yasinia. The village can be reached by bus or taxi. There are hourly buses from Ivano-Frankivsk to Yablunytsia.
