Church of St. Basil the Great, Kosiv
TheChurch of St. Basil the Great in Kosovo is part of a monastery. The locals call the church Moskalevski after the name of the area where it is located. The wooden church of St. Basil the Great was built in 1895. At the same time, a bell tower was added to the church. The style of the building is traditional for that time - Hutsul. The temple is decorated with numerous onion-shaped domes and one large tent.
In 2009, a fire broke out and the church burned down. However, in 2011, the Church of St. Basil the Great was rebuilt according to the drawings and photographs preserved in the archive. The new church is also made of wood and completely duplicates the previous building.

The church is located in the city of Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. From the city center you should go towards the Rybnytsia River. After crossing the bridge, you can see the church in the palm of your hand. Near the church is a monument to the fighters for the freedom of Ukraine. It is based on a list with the names of local residents who died for their country from 1939 to 1952.
