Ceramics Museum of Strypko, Kosiv

In the city of Kosiv is the family ceramics museum of Vasyl Strypko, established in 1990. The exhibition is located in the house where the famous master and his family lived. Vasyl Strypko is a honored master of folk art of Ukraine, a self-taught artist who managed to develop his own working style. His creative legacy has been carried on by three generations of the Strypko family.

The museum collection consists of the best examples of Hutsul ceramics, incorporating innovative techniques and the author's creative touch. For the items produced, the master uses white and red clay, deposits of which are found in Kosiv itself. In the coloring of the finished products, traditionally for Hutsulshchyna, the predominant colors are white, brown, green, and yellow. They symbolize air, earth, the greenery of grass, and the sun, respectively.

The museum's exhibition features a large number of pottery items: plates, jugs, spoons, mugs, as well as candlesticks, sculptures, jugs, and many other household items.

In the family museum of Vasyl Strypko, visitors can see not only the finished products but also witness the process of their creation. The museum showcases numerous original works made in the best traditions of Kosiv ornaments. Those interested can also sit at a real potter's wheel and create a souvenir with their own hands.
