Church of the Holy Trinity, Snyatyn

The city Snyatyn in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast has a rich history and many landmarks. One of the most important is the Church of the Holy Trinity. The church has an interesting history and beautiful architecture. The distance to Ivano-Frankivsk is 100 km.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is one of the main churches in the entire Pokuttya region. It is a brick, single-domed, cross-shaped structure. The iconostasis is two-tiered with volumetric carving and gilding. The bell tower is a brick arch. The church was built in 1928 with funds from the community, thanks to the efforts of the Dutchak and Radevych families. Initially, the church was wooden. Due to its age, it was dismantled. In 1903, the residents of Snyatyn began constructing a new church, which started functioning after the end of World War I.
After World War II, the church was not operational - in 1961, it was closed due to the prohibitions of the Soviet authorities. It only emerged from underground in 1989. It was reopened and transferred to the ownership of the community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate by the order of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration No. 223 on April 1, 1996. Currently, the Orthodox community of Snyatyn conducts its services in the church. It was consecrated on April 6, 1996.

It was painted in 1999 under the guidance of the rector, Protoiereus Mykhailo Marusyak, with artist Vdovychyn S. I. from Burshtyn. The external restoration took place in 2000, and the iconostasis was made by master Vdovychyn S. I. On September 19, 2001, the bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Halych, Ioasaf, granted the Holy Trinity Church the status of a cathedral. A choir operates, with the regent being Lysyuk D.O.

The community actively participates in all public events in the city and district. Under the parish's care are a psycho-neurological boarding school and a children's boarding house.
