There are many mountain meadows in the Carpathians, but Plitse stands out from the rest.

The "feature" of the Plitse meadow is that the first tourist shelter was built here 70 years ago. Please note: it was not an ordinary hut for shepherds, but a shelter designed specifically for tourists. Just imagine the weight of the old tarpaulin tent! You would get tired of carrying it around all day, and you had to rest somewhere.

In the early 2000s, local activists came up with an idea to restore the shelter. It took many years to get various permits, raise funds, etc. Residents of neighboring villages, including Osmoloda, and tourists started carrying construction materials from the village. This meant walking about 10 kilometers to the village and climbing uphill with heavy materials.

In two years of hard work, a first-class shelter has grown, which can accommodate about 15 people, and there is room in the attic. And most importantly, the majestic Gorgany mountains rise outside the window. Everyone wants to enjoy this view 365 days a year.

Tourist shelter Plitse

The Plitse meadow is one of the oldest tourist locations for overnight stays in the Carpathians. The first tourist shelter in the hollow between Hrofa and Parenky was built in 1935 by the Ukrainian Tourist and Local History Society "Plai". Unfortunately, this small wooden hut was destroyed during World War II. Later, the shelter was rebuilt and reconstructed several times on the same site, and finally appeared in its present form. Now it is looked after by the Carpathian Trails Society.

From the shelter, you can climb Mount Grofa or the Perenky ridge.

From Ivano-Frankivsk, you need to take a minibus to Kalush. From there, take a bus to the village of Osmoloda.
