Ivasyk-Telesyk fountain, Lviv
TheIvasyk-Telesyk fountain in Lviv is located on the central linden alley in Stryiskyi Park. The composition recreates the atmosphere of a fairy tale: a little boy tightly hugs the neck of a swan, and the two of them seem about to take off from the ground. After the reconstruction, the fountain played with bright shades of light and music dances under the water jet.
The Ivasyk-Telesyk fountain was created in 1964. The sculptural composition represented a little boy and swans, one of which he was sitting on and they were about to fly away. Back then, his work was arranged in such a way that water was sprayed through the swans' beaks.
The Ivasyk-Telesyk fountain recreates the fairy-tale atmosphere of the famous fairy tale of the same name not only with a sculptural composition where a little boy tightly hugs the neck of a swan and they are about to take off from the ground and fly home, but also with fabulous dances and shimmering light to the music created by streams of water.
In 2009-2011, the fountain was reconstructed and made light and music. The main sculpture has retained its old appearance, but now it seems to dance with the shimmering of light and music to the water jets. The way the water is sprayed has changed slightly, but the fountain hasn't become worse. Locals and visitors to the ancient city can now enjoy the beauty every day.
