Church of Borys and Hlib, Lviv

TheChurch of the Great Martyrs Borys and Hlib of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church was built between 1995 and 2007. It was designed by architect R.P. Syvenkyi. The modern church was built on the territory of Bodnarivka Park, the name of which comes from the name of the estate of the same name that was located here several hundred years ago.

After the procession of the cross and the reading of the Gospel, a solemn academy dedicated to the millennium of the deaths of Borys and Hlib and Volodymyr the Great began.

The reports were given by Fr. Ihor Burmylo (rector of the Assumption Church in Lviv) and Dr. Roman Maksymovych (member of the Patriarchal Council of the UAOC). A poem dedicated to the parish was read by Andriana Chinka, and the song "Kingdom of Heaven" was performed by the church conductor Olga Datsyk.

The musical accompaniment of the Academy was provided by the choir of the folk song and dance ensemble "Cheremosh" of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (conducted by Tetiana Kohut) and the choir "Stavros" of the Lviv Stavropegic Brotherhood of St. Andrew the First-Called (conducted by Olha Datsyk).
