It was built in 1949 and is installed on a pedestal on the territory of the Ivano-Frankivsk Locomotive Repair Plant. The locomotive itself is cool and unusual, but it's hidden in a place where there is no access to it. You can't get there just like that - you need to make an appointment with a guard. It was installed in honor of the 115th anniversary of the plant's foundation in September 1981. The Kolomna plant produced 55 more 9P type paravozes, and the design was improved, comparable to the older 9P paravozes. From 1955-1957, the Murom plant produced a modified version of the paravoz called 9PM.

Features:

  • Boiler with a diameter of 1320 mm, a radial-type furnace, 160 chimneys - 46/51 mm in diameter and 3250 mm long.
  • Pistons without counter rods.
  • The water supply is 5m3.
  • Coal reserve - 2 m3.
  • Weight of the paravoz - 55 tons (working condition)
  • lead bronze drawbar
  • welded interframe fasteners
  • spring suspension - three-point, statically determined
  • the wheel bands did not have ridges, this was done in order to pass curves (up to 40 meters)

The paratransit cars manufactured at the Kolomna plant (1939) had some differences:

  • Increased volume of water tanks (6.5m3)
  • Fully welded boiler
  • Availability of a steam dryer
  • No water purifier
  • Availability of electric lighting
  • Changed design of the cab and coal box

Number of produced steam locomotives 1935-1957

  • 1935-1941 - 208 steam locomotives
  • 1937-1938 - 80 paratransit cars
  • 1946-1955 - 2200 paratransit vehicles
  • 1955-1957 - 500 paratransit cars (9 PM)

One of the most famous monuments is the 9P paratransit car in Kyiv, which is on public display at the State Polytechnic Museum. It is the very first large-sized exhibit of the State Polytechnic Museum, which means that it has been seen by a large number of people, which is why it is so popular. Previously, it was installed in the village of Osnova in Kharkiv, but in 2014 it was transferred to the Museum of History and Railway Equipment of the Southern Railway. In 2021, a 9P-337 paravoz (paravoz model produced in 1949) was installed in Kramatorsk. It was restored within 2 months at the KZTS plant.
