On the canvases of the artist, exhibited at the Lviv salon "Khudojnyk", there is love for life, the world, and also for his wife. For example, he showcases a work with a boat named after her and numbered with her birth date.
Among the exhibition are the recognizable pumpkins of the artist. He traditionally paints up to five such still lifes each year. These are the harvest from his native Volosivka in Ternopil region, where young Mykola Mohylat used to herd cattle and guard geese. The plums, zucchini, and pumpkins depicted in his works are grown by his mother.
"Now she even takes care of the pumpkins so that their stems do not break off. Once, my dad brought us pumpkins and didn’t know this — he broke one off. He thought it was unnecessary. Now mom scolds him not to break them. Those plums are the ones my grandmother planted when she was alive... These are all things from my mom and my grandparents," said the artist Mykola Mohylat.

Since the artist loves the sea, he also painted Chornomorsk and Montenegro. A work from the Adriatic, for example, was born after a mishap: during his vacation, the artist lost his phone card.
"I found it. I went every evening and dug in the sand. After that, I decided to paint this work. It was my state of soul: these clouds - and Montenegro gives opportunities to work with this - and at the same time, I wanted to show this happiness. Because the sky brightens on the canvas," described Mykola Mohylat.
Currently, the artist teaches academic painting at the College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Trush and at the Lviv Academy of Arts. He started painting as a child in kindergarten. Then there was art school, the painting-pedagogical department of the Odesa School of Art named after Grekov, and a book illustration course at the current Academy of Printing. He first showcased his works at an exhibition in Uzhhorod. And after a good ten years, in Istanbul, viewers bought all his canvases — there were 12 at that time.

"I find it interesting that in creativity, a man becomes warmer over time. The works become more emotional. Each work truly receives internal filling," added the artist's wife, artist Tetiana Mohylat.
