Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Pryslip
The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was founded in 1797. There are icons from the 16th and 17th centuries. The Orthodox wooden church is an architectural monument. In the interior of the church you can see beautiful carvings decorating the elements of the temple. It is said that the residents of the upper end could not agree with the residents of the lower part of the village about the place of construction of the church. At night, the villagers removed the cross from the old church and buried it where the current church is located.
Artistic details:
- carved porch posts, figuratively carved crowns of the log cabins, carved arches of the upper and lower arches of the upper and lower lintels, doors and jambs with carvings.
- Restored in 1968, the bell tower is well preserved.
- On the occasion of the church's 200th anniversary, it was covered with tin, a new throne was built, and the iconostasis was gilded.
- Originally, the church was a wooden structure with a straw roof. Now the church is built of spruce beams.
