TheChurch of St. John the Baptist is literally buried in the lush greenery of the small town of Boryslav. The existence of the Church of the Resurrection in the village was first documented in 1445. The previous wooden three-story church was built in 1734 at public expense. The existing wooden building and the wooden bell tower were built in 1874-1879 under the leadership of Fr.

The wooden iconostasis, painted in white, dates back to the same time (according to other sources, the iconostasis was installed in 1888). The church was closed in 1962-1989 and turned into a salt warehouse. After its opening in 1989-1990, it was renovated by Fr. The church is used by the UGCC community.

The church is located at the exit from Boryslav to Drohobych, near the road, between buildings. The central square log nave is flanked by faceted side ramens to the north and south, a faceted altar with sacristies to the east, and a babynets to the west.

The porch that surrounds the church is broken on the south and west by gable roofs over the entrances. The walls under the porch are preserved from a bare log, and above the porch they are covered with horizontal wooden clapboard. Some of the windows have been replaced with plastic ones.

The tall light octagon of the nave is covered with a dome crowned by a transparent lantern with a top. Obviously, a bell hangs under it, and a long stationary staircase runs from the ground to it.

The tops on the tall lanterns are arranged on the ridges of the roofs of the Babynets, side chapels, and altar. To the southwest of the church there are two bell towers: an old, wooden, three-tiered, renovated one and a new, stone one with three bells. To the left of the entrance gate you will see a tall monument to St. John the Baptist, protected by a roof on supports.

The incredible silence, beauty and attractiveness of these places will not leave anyone indifferent. In addition, Boryslav is famous among pilgrims and tourists for the Church of St. Anne.
