About
The Kalatówki Mountain Hotel stands on the glade of the same name within Zakopane, on a moraine below Krokiew, at 1,198 m. It is not a classic hut but a large PTTK mountain hotel; still, it lies right on popular Western Tatra trails and sees plenty of hikers.
The Tatra Skiers' Society built it for the 1938 FIS World Ski Championships. It has 86 beds, a restaurant and two cafés, and in winter two ski tows run on the glade. Kalatówki hosted the well-known Jazz Camping festival in 1959–1960 and again from 1997.
From Kuźnice the granite-cobbled Droga Brata Alberta, closed to cars, leads up in about 35 minutes. The blue trail continues to the Hala Kondratowa Hut and on to Giewont, while the black Ścieżka nad Reglami heads west towards Dolina Białego and Sarnia Skała. Mountain rescue: 985 or +48 601 100 300.
