Twin houses, Chernivtsi
The Twin Houses are an architectural landmark of the city. Two absolutely identical buildings look like a mirror image of each other. Made in the classicist style with elements of Byzantine Baroque and Renaissance, the building undoubtedly attracts attention.
According to legend, the twin houses - the attraction of the city of Chernivtsi - were built by a citizen who had twin sons. He allegedly built identical houses for them and lived in the central part of the city to be close to them. In fact, these are not two identical buildings, but one that is U-shaped. The distance between the balconies of the "twins" is so small that it seems as if the neighbors can come to visit right through the loggias. Nowadays, the twin houses are residential. The first floors are occupied by various organizations.
