Ivan Vahylevych Museum

The museum was opened in 1995 in the village of Yasen – the homeland of the outstanding writer, ethnographer, and enlightener, a member of the "Ruska Triytsia", which published the almanac "Rusalka Dnistrova" in 1837.

The museum is located in a house that once belonged to the writer's family, near which a monument was erected in 1937 with the inscription: "To the awakeners of the Galician land, fathers M. Shashkevych, Y. Holovatsky, and I. Vahylevych in the century of 'Rusalka Dnistrova'. In the 1970s, the monument was reconstructed.

In five rooms, there are over a thousand exhibits. These mainly include printed publications, documentary materials provided to the museum by the V. Stefanyk Scientific Library in Lviv, household items and pottery, clothing, and footwear that were once used by the Vahylevych family and the residents of the writer's native village.

A separate stand is dedicated to family photos of I. Vahylevych. The museum also houses editions of the almanac "Rusalka Dnistrova" from various times and other books.

In a separate room, photographs of the people of the village of Yasen, who lived here and fought for a free and independent Ukraine, are presented.
