Aquapark Leśna (Żywiec)
Aquapark Leśna (also called Aquapark Żywiec) is a swimming-pool complex in the village of Leśna, a few kilometres from Żywiec, in the Żywiec Basin, surrounded by the Beskids. According to the owners, it was the first facility of its kind in the Żywiec region. The water park is open all year: the indoor pool hall works in summer and winter alike, and in the warm season it is joined by an outdoor area with pools, water slides and space for sunbathing.
It is not a thermal spa with mineral water but a family water park — a place to swim, ride the slides and warm up in the saunas after a day in the mountains or by Lake Żywiec. The warmest spot is the brine hot tubs: according to the water park, they run all year at 40 °C.
What to see and do
- Indoor pools with attractions — open all year.
- Outdoor pools and an open-air relaxation area — in the summer season.
- Water slides — for children and adults (instructions at the slides and lifeguards' directions must be strictly followed).
- Saunas: Finnish, steam and infrared — included in the ticket price.
- Brine hot tubs at 40 °C — open all year; because of the hot water, stays of no more than 15 minutes are recommended.
Note that under the complex rules the slides, water jets and hot tubs run in turns — each attraction works for 15 minutes every hour rather than all at once. Some attractions may be switched off when there are few visitors or because of the weather.
Practical information
Getting there. The water park is at ul. Sasanki 3, 34-300 Leśna. It is about 7 km from the centre of Żywiec (around 12 minutes by car), 13 km from Węgierska Górka and 26 km from Bielsko-Biała (about 30 minutes; distances given by the water park). There is a large car park, so driving is the most convenient option.
Opening hours (as of October 2026): daily 10:00–22:00, except public holidays.
Tickets (according to the price list on the official website as of October 2026): adult ticket (age 12–64) — 34 zł for 1.5 h, 44 zł for 2.5 h, 70 zł for the whole day; seniors 65+ — 31 / 39 / 70 zł; reduced (children aged 5–12) — 29 / 37 / 55 zł. A 1-hour evening ticket (after 19:00) for everyone from age 5 costs 27 zł. Children aged 1–5 pay 8 zł, babies under one 5 zł. Overtime costs 7 zł for each started half hour; a lost wristband watch costs 100 zł. The sauna is included in the ticket. The water park accepts the MyBenefit, Medicover, VanityStyle and PZU programmes.
Good to know. Children under 12 may only swim under adult supervision (the price list says under 14), and children shorter than 120 cm must wear armbands in the pool. Swimwear and pool slippers are compulsory, and toddlers need swim nappies. Alcohol and food in glass containers and animals are not allowed. The water park also has rooms: a double costs 160 zł and a triple 240 zł per night, and a two-day all-day water-park ticket for guests costs 70 zł per person.
Summer is the best time, when the outdoor area is open; in winter and on rainy days the water park is a good option for families after walks in the mountains.
Nearby
A few kilometres away is Lake Żywiec, and in Żywiec itself the Old Castle and the Habsburg Palace with a large park. Architecture lovers can drive on to the castle in Sucha Beskidzka, known as the "little Wawel".
