Fountain with a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Ivano-Frankivsk
An elegant fountain with a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ivano-Frankivsk has become a beautiful decoration of the city center. This wonderful combination of sculpture and fountain is located in front of the former Jesuit College. Although this is not the original Baroque statue, the modern statue has some similarities and advantages.
The sculpture of the Blessed Virgin Mary was unveiled together with the fountain in 2000 on Sheptytsky Square, which became the spiritual and cultural center of the entire city. Nearby is an important architectural landmark, the Collegiate Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Previously, a baroque sculpture from the 18th century stood on the site of the modern statue. And today's composition has perfectly absorbed the historical prototype.
The fountain with the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located in the city center on Sheptytsky Square, so you can get here by almost any local transport. There are many architectural monuments near the statue, so visiting the fountain will be an exciting and interesting excursion.
