Bridge to the island of Love, Ivano-Frankivsk

The Stanislavske Sea Lake, also called the City Lake in Ivano-Frankivsk, has recently gained great popularity due to the Love Island. The island has the shape of an elongated heart, and it is connected to the shore of the city lake by a pedestrian arched bridge.

According to one of the legends, the island was formed from the great love of a Polish lady and a servant boy. They met secretly, but the father wanted to give his daughter in marriage to a Polish lord. Then the lovers decided to run away and hid in the swamp that used to be here. In the morning, the swamp dried up, forming a small island with willows, which was washed by clear water. This is how an island of love appeared in Ivano-Frankivsk.

After a recent "general" cleaning, the island has stone paths, benches, lanterns, trash cans, and before the opening, it was also framed with decorative applications made of dried fruit leaves and other materials. The bridge leading to the island is especially popular among honeymooners who use this place for romantic photo shoots.

The bridge is far away from the bustle of the city. The Island of Love has become a favorite vacation spot for citizens and couples in love.

Residents and guests of the city like to walk here with their children, play sports, ride bicycles or rollerblades, and, of course, relax with their loved ones. After all, this place was once created primarily for lovers.

In August 2020, a big heart shone under the bridge to the island of love. The two halves of the bridge are lit in the national colors: blue and yellow. In the center, where these colors converge, a large red heart with a slogan that speaks of love for Ivano-Frankivsk is located under the bridge. It is worth noting that the lighting on the bridge to the island of love was installed as part of a project to replace lighting and power grids throughout Ivano-Frankivsk.
