Brusny Ridge

Brusnyi Ridge is little known in tourist circles. You won't see crowds of tourists here, but it is a very picturesque corner of the Carpathians, offering 360-degree views. But this place is not rich in beauty alone. In front of the top of Brusnyi Ridge there is a spring that does not freeze in winter, which is why it is called a "greenhouse" and the summer water is tasty and cool. The ridge itself has amazing beauty, with rich flora. The ridge offers wonderful views of the mountains, and in clear weather you can see Hoverla. From Brusnyi, the trail leads down to the spruce forest, then through the mixed forest to the spring, and from there to the mountain stream Lower Brusnyi - the beginning of the march.

Brusnyi is a mountain range with an altitude of up to 950 meters in the Kosiv district. In particular, it is home to hares, deer, wild boars, roe deer, foxes and other species of wild animals. As for birds, you can see an owl, an owl, a dwarf eagle, sparrows, etc. There will be an interesting ecological and educational trail for visitors, as well as billboards, benches, and tables for rest. According to a resident of the village of Prokurava, Olha Garasymiuk, a deputy of the Kosiv District Council, people have long lived on the Brusnyi ridge. Here, on the mountain, they sowed rye and hemp for linen, planted a garden and built huts, and raised children. In general, they were happy and free, and even today people still live on the top and graze their cattle.

The length of the march is 5 km. It lasts 2-3 hours.

We recommend you to stay overnight. Due to the lack of forest (there is a meadow), you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise and sunset. On the way back, you should see the majestic and interesting "Dovbush Stone", which is located in a spruce forest. In our opinion, the Brusnyi ridge has significant tourist potential. It is easier and faster to climb the Brusnyi ridge than the Sokilskyi ridge (Sokilskyi ridge is a twin brother) The length is 15-20 km, and the height is 900-1000m, approximately the same. Sokilskyi Ridge was taken for comparison.

It's best to go to the village in the morning - there is a bus Kosiv-Shepit at 7:30, but it doesn't run on Saturday and Sunday. You can go back by bus at 11:20, 19:00 Shepit-Kolomyia to the turn to Pistyn, and then change to other buses going to Kosiv.
