Sloboda-Dolynska is a village in the Dolyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. On the map of Arnold Friedrich von Mieg of 1779-1783 the village is called "Sloboda Lisova".

In 1939, the village was home to 870 inhabitants (830 Greek Catholics, 10 Roman Catholics, and 30 Jews).

The village is located among the forest, except for the northern part in the Turyanska valley. The Turyanka river flows through the village. To the north-east of the village there is a protected tract "Pidlis". On the east side of the village, the Syvka River originates.

Церква Собору Пресвятої Богородиці 1908 року в Слободі-Долинській

The previous wooden church of the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin was built in 1800 and dismantled in 1908. The current wooden church dates back to 1908. It was a daughter church to the mother church in the village of Trostianets. It is an architectural monument of local importance. The church is used by the UGCC community.
Once upon a time, the inhabitants of the village of Sloboda-Dolyna decided to build their church not somewhere on a mountain, but on the contrary - in the valley of the river Turyanka. Since people in Sloboda settled on both banks of the river and farther away from it, the church now remains in the middle of the desert, 300 meters away from the nearest building.
It seems to be a standard cross-shaped one-story building, with white plastic walls above the porch, darkly painted log walls below the porch (lucky them), and even images in carved frames on both sides of the church entrance... But something is visually missing... Now it's clear - the "complete set" lacks a porch in front of the Babynets. The wooden bell tower, which is built by the fence near the road, is very similar to a Japanese pagoda - even octagons stacked one on top of the other and wide, sloping roofs over each tier...
Only the Japanese don't know what plastic on wood is! Near the fence of the churchyard, among the lush grasses, there is a wooden building of unknown purpose, covered with sheets of tin. And between the cemetery and the road, you will definitely see a sprawling oak tree with an unrealistically split trunk, and an old cross under the trunk - a perfect place for filming!
