TheGallery of Hutsul Traditions and Rituals Museum is a private museum in Verkhovyna dedicated to the preservation of Hutsul traditions and rituals. The museum's hostess, Pavlo Rashkovska, will tell you about the customs, rituals, and folk signs that were formed in the Hutsul region in ancient times and still exist today in an interesting conversation over a cup of garbata.

The Museum Gallery of Traditions and Rituals is:

  • acquaintance with Hutsul traditions and rituals;
  • dressing in Hutsul costumes and taking pictures;
  • master classes of Hutsul cuisine, cooking on the stove;
  • healing by a live fire.

While learning about Hutsul traditions and rituals, visitors are treated to herbal tea, told interesting stories in the Hutsul dialect, cleansed by a live fire, and introduced to a collection of family embroideries with a long history.

In the museum, you can take part in a master class on tying a peremetka, dress up in traditional Hutsul clothes and feel the spirit of Hutsul traditions. The master class will be conducted by the museum's owner, Pavlo Rashkovska, who carefully preserves ancient Hutsul traditions and passes them on to the next generations.

The peremitka is an element of women's Hutsul dress that is of particular importance to the Hutsuls. Tying a peremitka to a bride symbolizes her establishment as a married woman. It has a symbolic meaning and serves as a talisman for the whole family. And although tying a peremetka is a ritual that was formed in ancient times, this tradition is still preserved here in the Hutsul region.

The museum is located in the center of the village of Verkhovyna at the foot of Mount Shveykova.
