Senechev is a village in the Dolyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. It is the most remote settlement in the district, located 50 km from the town of Dolyna in a picturesque mountainous area. It is valuable for its original folklore, dishes, and high-yielding areas of berries and mushrooms. The Mizunka River flows through the village. The highest mountain in the eastern direction is Horodyshche Velyke (1370 m). The village is the origin of the Slovianskyi, Zhabynets and Obnoha streams, the left tributaries of the Mizunka.
The settlement dates back to 1752. According to legend, the village got its name from the first settlers. They were seven fugitives who escaped from a Tatar attack and found a safe place in a mountain meadow. That is, seven chilas (from the word "forehead"). On the map of 1775, the village is marked as "Sinachole".
In 1939, the village had 1310 inhabitants (1270 Ukrainians, 30 Poles, and 10 Jews). Under Soviet rule, the village was called Semychiv in documents until 1989. In 1831, the church of St. Archangel Michael was built, which is an architectural monument.
There are several memorial crosses in the village. There is a symbolic grave to the "Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine".
In 1971, a secondary school and a club were built, in 1972 - a house for teachers, in 2001 - the administrative building of the village council.
