Nadiiiv is a village in the Dolyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The village of Nadiiiv is divided into "corners": Oseredok (central), Na Hora, Mohylivka, Lysa Hora, Zaverbya, Holynia, and Sivka. Until 1940, the western corner of Mohylivka was adjacent to the German village of Hoffnungsau (German: Hoffnungsau - source of hope), which was renamed Podlasie by the Polish authorities on February 18, 1939. In 1940, the Soviet authorities deported the Germans to Wartegau. Lemkos settled in the empty houses after the war.
The first written mention of the village is in a charter of King Jagiellia (Władysław II) dated October 1399. The tax register of 1515 documents a priest in the village (thus, there was a church even then) and 7 1/2 lanae (about 187 hectares) of cultivated land.
According to some researchers, the Church of St. George, which is now in the Drohobychchyna Museum(Drohobych), was moved from the village of Nadiievo.
In 1939, 1790 inhabitants lived in the village (1670 Ukrainians, 20 Poles, 50 Latin, 20 Jews, and 30 Germans) and 170 inhabitants (10 Ukrainians and 160 Germans) in the village of Hofnungzav. The former German colony was liquidated by the Soviet authorities in 1940. Its inhabitants were deported to Warthegau (Germany) under the infamous Molotov-Ribbentrop Agreement. Later, Ukrainians from the Boyko village of Smerek (Zakerzonia) were resettled here.
