Kropyvnyk is a village in the Dolyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The first written mention of the village was made in a charter by King Władysław II Jagiełł in October 1399. The village is located 12 km from the district center of Dolyna.

It is known that Dolyna district was repeatedly ravaged by Turks and Tatars. In particular, in 1594, a 40,000-strong army of Busurmans completely burned Dolyna and the surrounding villages. There is a version that Kropyvnyk was also burned, and the surviving inhabitants fled to the mountains, where they founded a new settlement. Indeed, in subsequent references Kropyvnyk is referred to as a subdivision of Mizunia. In fact, when a monastery was built on the mountain between Mizun and Kropyvnyk, which operated from 1711 to 1765, a monastery village emerged. The settlement of the village of Kropyvnyk by the Mizun Monastery is confirmed by historical documents.

In 1832, Kropyvnyk already had its own church of St. Nicholas, and in 1912, a one-class school. In 1918, the school became a two-class school. In 1989, a branch of the Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Language Society was established, and later a branch of the Rukh. The riflemen's grave was restored, and the burial place of the UPA soldiers was also landscaped.

In 2005, a monument to the "Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine" was unveiled in the village. In 2006, the second church of the UGCC of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was consecrated and opened.
