Kvasy is a small village in the Rakhiv district of the Zakarpattia region in western Ukraine. The meteorite
According to some sources, on October 13, 1852, a meteorite, now known as the Borkut meteorite, fell in the area of Kvasy. The meteorite weighed about 7 kg (what was left of it). Today, fragments of the Borkut meteorite can be found in various collections and museums around the world. The fall of the Borkut meteorite remains an important event in the history of the Zakarpattia region and a significant scientific discovery.
