Khomyak is a 1542-meter-high peak of the Gorgan mountain range. Rumor has it that the mountain was named so because its shape resembles the back of a hamster. Perhaps those with a well-developed imagination can easily see this resemblance...

In good cloudless weather, from the top you can see Chornohora with Hoverla and Petros, Yavirnyk and Svydovets, as well as the surrounding villages - Tatariv, Mykulychyn and Polyanitsa with Bukovel.

The shape of Mount Khomyak is conical. The slopes of the peak are covered with dense beech and spruce forests; in small meadows you can find dense raspberry bushes. Above the forest belt, the slopes are covered with thickets of horsetail. However, the very top of the mountain is "bald" and covered with scattered gorgonian sediments.

At the very top there is a figure of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

To the north of the peak is Mount Sinyak, and to the northwest is the Khomyakiv meadow, which offers very beautiful views. It is here, in the meadow, that tourists most often stop for rest and overnight stays, as it is not far from the water, and the place is simply wonderful in terms of views and protection from the winds.

Mount Khomyak is a fairly popular tourist destination, both in summer and winter, as it takes just a few hours to climb and descend, depending on physical fitness and desire.

The main routes to the top are the villages of Tatariv and Mykulychyn.
