Boring

Roztochky is a village in the Dolyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The Roztochka River flows through the village. The village is located in a mountainous area at a distance of 20 km from the town of Dolyna and borders on the villages of Vytvytsia, Kalna, and Stankivtsi. In 1939, the village had a population of 1170 inhabitants (1145 Ukrainians, 5 Latins, and 20 Jews).

The first written mention of Roztochky was in 1578 in the documents of the Stryi Eparchy. The Solotvynia River originates in the mountains behind the village and divides into two streams in the village. Hence the name of the village Roztochky. In the forest near the village there is a protected tract Makohinka, a highly productive larch and beech plantation.

The village has the following historical monuments: a memorial cross to the "Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine", a grave to the Sich Riflemen, and the old school building built in 1903. The church of St. Basil, built in 1838, was destroyed during the Soviet period. Instead, communities of different denominations built two churches in the village: a Greek Catholic and an Orthodox church.

TheChurch of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1989 at the expense of the community; it is cruciform, wooden, five-domed. The iconostasis is four-tiered. The bell tower was built together with the church. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew the First-Called operates at the church.

In 1989, a new community center was built, which houses the village council, post office, and library. In 2004, a school of I-II levels with 135 pupils was opened, in October 2012, 1 preschool group was opened. In November 2015, a monument to the "Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine" was unveiled on the initiative of Vasyl Bartkiv, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the democratic convocation.

- There is no school in Ukraine as good as the one in Roztoky. There are no such schools in France, Germany, Great Britain... - Dmytro Pavlychko said during the grand opening of the two-story school. The poet is amazed that a temple of science of international standards has been built in a small village, alongside a magnificent House of Culture and two churches. Vasyl Bartkiv, a member of the Ukrainian parliament, took care of the knowledge room for almost two hundred schoolchildren in his native Roztoky. Charitable funds for the completion of this school were provided by Ukrzaliznytsia, for which the villagers are sincerely grateful to its leader.

Roztochanske is a protected tract in Ukraine, located not far from the village of Roztochky. It covers an area of 12 hectares. The status was granted according to the order of the Regional State Administration of 15.07.1996 No. 451, as amended by the decision of the Regional Council of 12.03.2004 No. 350-1/2004. It is under the management of: Dolyna Specialized Agroforestry (Roztochanske Forestry). The status was granted in order to preserve a part of the forest area, which is a seed plot with highly productive fir plantations with an admixture of spruce. The plantations are 100 years old.
