The highest points of the territory are Mt. Pikuy (1405 m) on the border with Zakarpattia region and Kamula (471 m) in the plains. The main rivers are the Dniester with tributaries, the Western Bug with tributaries, Vyshnia and Shklo.There are 400 territories and objects of the nature reserve fund in the region, including the Roztochia State Nature Reserve, 33 nature reserves, the Lviv University Botanical Garden, 240 natural monuments, 55 parks - monuments of landscape art, 61 protected tracts.
There are 24 types of minerals in the Lviv region.The region is rich in mineral resources: natural gas, oil (Boryslavske, Skhidnytsia, and Strilbytske oil fields), coal deposits, sulfur, peat, ozokerite (Boryslavske ozokerite field), table salt and potassium salt, raw materials for cement production, limestone (for the sugar industry and limestone for lime burning) shale (minilithic shale), marl, large reserves of construction and refractory clays (brick and tile raw materials), sand (for locomotive sandboxes and sand for the glass industry), gypsum and anhydrite, construction chalk, sandstones, sand and gravel mixtures, expanded clay raw materials; 4 deposits of medicinal mineral waters of the Naftusia type have been discovered. The Galician land is particularly rich in large reserves of medicinal mineral waters, which are the basis for resorts.
As a true jewel of Eastern Europe, Lviv resembles an open-air museum with 2,000 historical, architectural and cultural monuments. For centuries, people have brought their culture, traditions, and religion here. Hence, the architecture of Lviv is a mixture of Gothic and Baroque, Renaissance and Romanesque, Rococo and Empire, modern eclecticism and constructivism. Lviv is a treasure trove of national ideas and culture, an economic, educational, and cultural center of western Ukraine. It has many museums, art galleries, theater and music companies. The majestic Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater has an extremely busy season. Lviv is home to 12 higher education institutions and has a well-deserved reputation as a city with a high level of education. It is home to one of the oldest universities in Central Europe and the first university founded in Ukraine.
A significant number of ancient wooden churches have been preserved in the Lviv region. The total number of historical, archeological, urban planning and architecture, and monumental art monuments in the region is 3934.
On the territory of Lviv region there are: 886 archeological monuments (including 14 of national importance), 3822 historical monuments (including 7 of national importance), 3431 architectural and urban planning monuments (including 794 of national importance), and 302 monumental art monuments (including 1 of national importance). - The oldest architectural monuments of Lviv - the High Castle, the Church of St. Nicholas, the Armenian Cathedral, monuments in the Gothic and Baroque styles - the Carmelite Barefoot Church of 1644;
- Sanatorium and resort treatment and recreation occupy a leading position in the structure of the Lviv region's tourism complex. There are 106 relevant institutions in the region: sanatoriums, boarding houses, rest homes, bases and institutions of 1-2 day stay. Among the regions of Ukraine, Lviv region ranks eighth in terms of the number of health resort and recreation (health) facilities, and second in terms of the number of sanatoriums and boarding houses with treatment, after the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

- Verkhnekamianskyi - height 3.5 m. On the Kamianka River (a tributary of the Opir). Easily accessible (Skole district);
- Laznyi - height 10.5 m. On the Laznyi stream (tributary of the Stryi). Easily accessible, little known (Drohobych district);
- Near Kudryvets (Skole district, near Kamianka village);

- Phantom - a waterfall near the village of Lapshyn, Zhydachiv district, at the foot of Mount Bakotsyno. Phantom belongs to the so-called ephemeral waterfalls. It consists of 9 cascades about 8 meters high;
