The village of Kinchesh , Uzhhorod district, Zakarpattia region, has only 118 years of history. There are two versions of the origin of the village's name.
According to the first one, after a successful hunt, the Austrian emperor granted land to his nobles, including the Hungarian lord Kinchesh. The latter built a house, a barn, and other outbuildings on Rovzhash. His children also built houses here. This is how the Kinch surname gave rise to the settlement "Kinchesh tono," which means "Kinchesh village" in Hungarian.
According to other experts, the name of the village came from the Hungarian word "kincsztar" (treasure, treasury). Indeed, the rich surrounding lands were a treasure for the local population. But rather, the treasure in Kinchesh is the people - peaceful and friendly. For example, a unique church has been built here, where three Christian denominations worship.
