Duky Khmelnytsky, Pidhirne
There are many Khmelnytsky oaks in Ukraine - in Vinnytsia and Ternopil regions. In the northeastern part of the village of Pidhirne in the Lviv region, there are three Khmelnytsky oaks, a botanical natural monument of local importance in Ukraine. The area is 0.07 hectares. The status was granted by the decision of the Lviv Regional Executive Committee of 09.10.1984, No. 495. It is under the jurisdiction of Myklashivka village council. The status was granted in order to preserve three specimens of centuries-old oaks.
This village used to be a German colony and was called Unterbergen. After 1940, the village was renamed Pidhirne. The main attraction of the village that tourists come to see are the three Khmelnytskyi oaks.
The village has remnants of virgin forests from the 15th and 17th centuries. Bohdan Khmelnytskyi's oaks are about 400-500 years old.
Rumor has it that Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky stopped by these three sprawling trees more than once when he was besieging Lviv.
It is also said that the place between the three oaks has good energy, and if you stand between the trees for 7 minutes, you will have good health all year round.
Khmelnytskyi's oaks are located in Pidhirne, Pustomyty district, Lviv region. From Mytna Square, you can get to Pidhirne by minibus (#105). If you have a car, you should take the H02 road through Vynnyky.
The village is very small (the population is about 500 people), so there is nowhere to stop here. Unless you come here in the summer with your tent and spend the night.
