Dovhopillia is a village in Ukraine, in the
Chernivtsi region,
Putyla district. The Dovgopillia Village Council is the center of the territorial community of the villages of Dovgopillia, Stebni, Hreblyna and Plita, which stretch over 2,000 hectares. It is a large village, which, due to its remote location from the district and regional centers, has developed its own infrastructure. There is a school, 2 kindergartens, 2 pharmacies, a branch of Oschadbank, etc. In addition, there are 11 shops, several restaurants, and many timber processing enterprises. Population (according to the last census): 1401 people. Distance to the
city of Chernivtsi: 120 km.
Forest is the main industry of this region, people harvest and process wood. Currently, there are 11 sawmills in the village, which employ the lion's share of the village population. In addition, more than 100 people work in forestry. In general, almost every villager has something to do with wood: houses are still built from it. Firstly, it is affordable for these places, and secondly, they have not learned to deliver other building materials to mountain villages. In addition, ancient crafts have been preserved in Dovhopillia.
There are craftswomen who make woolen products using ancient technologies, and paint Easter eggs with traditional patterns for Easter. Dovhopillia also has its own bakery, so the villagers don't have to wait for bread to be delivered from the district center.
One of the peculiarities of Dovhopillia is that the village of Dovhopillia
in Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region stretches along the White Cheremosh, which flows right along the village. Thus, the two namesake villages organically "merge" into one.
Since time immemorial, many relatives of our villagers live in the neighboring village, and even some children go to the neighboring school.
Traditional folk crafts: Easter egg making, artistic embroidery.
What the community is proud of: The production of building materials, Easter eggs and artistic embroidery, timber processing, agriculture and the Cheremoshska mineral water.
