Water in the mountains: tips

  • Plan water for the whole day: even a well-known spring may barely trickle in August.
  • Fill up right at the source, above pastures and cattle camps.
  • “Drinkable” is no guarantee — in hot weather and below the meadows boil or filter the water.
  • Do not wash dishes or yourself in the spring itself: step a few metres away.
