The village is located in the center of Uzhhorod district, 1.3 kilometers[4] from the district center. The former name of the settlement was "Barvinkosh" village.
The village of Barvinok gained its final independence in 1936 (and the first mention of it was recorded in 1910). Prior to that, Barvinkosh was a suburb of Baranyntsi. "In general, the separation and development of the village began thanks to the Czech government, which sought to neutralize the policy of Magyarization in the region and provide opportunities for ordinary Transcarpathians to cultivate the land," explains Andriy Myshanych, a well-known local historian, native of these places and author of a historical essay about the village.
Currently, the village is considered very promising, particularly given its proximity to the regional center
