TheChurch of St. Nicholas in Tysmenytsia is one of the brightest examples of people uniting around the church. It was built in 1866 and in its lifetime has seen many joyful and sad events: the activities of the parishioners, their loyalty and dedication, persecution by the Soviet regime and revival in the 90s of the twentieth century.

In 1869, the church was opened to parishioners. However, much work was still needed to finalize the appearance of the church. The central dome was completed only in 1926. Despite all the efforts of the Soviet government, the church's laity and clergy remained faithful until 1989. In this significant year for the church, it returned to the bosom of the Catholic Church. During the service, Bishop Sofron Dmytrenko of the Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy of the UGCC solemnly proclaimed that the times of persecution and oppression were coming to an end.

Since 1982, Father Vasyl Hrynyshyn has been the spiritual director of the church, and today his work has been continued by Volodymyr Hrynyshyn (son of Father Vasyl). He took an active part in social activities, attracting more and more parishioners. During his ministry, a Sunday school was started, where children learned the basics of spirituality and the Greek Catholic faith.

From 2001 to the present day, the Sunday school has had a group dedicated to the little French saint. Today, 300 children attend the Sunday school, and cultural events and summer recreation are organized.
