"Inverted House" by Polianytsia

On the way to the Bukovel ski resort, you can see an unusual architectural structure - the Inverted House in Polianytsia. The building became the first architectural wonder in Ukraine. The upside-down house is a very famous place among tourists, and dozens of cars stop here every day to take a photo. The unique feature of the BudKhata is that everything is upside down both from the outside and inside, with the foundation on top and the roof at the bottom. Since then, it has become a real symbol. There are about ten similar museums in Ukraine.

Shape-shifting buildings that house hotels and restaurants are not uncommon in Europe. But this is the first building of its kind in Ukraine. The house seems small, although it is 85 square meters in size. The Inverted House is famous not only for its unusual shape but also for its content. Inside, you can see the real life of the locals, learn about the history of the region, and admire unusual and one-of-a-kind objects.

Carpathian carpenters built it using wood-frame technology in just a month and a half. The plan was to set up a small hotel or cafe here, so for comfort reasons, all the furniture is in its normal position.

On the first floor of the house there is a room, a sort of utility room or attic, as is customary in ordinary houses, and a toilet. The second floor is reached by a massive wooden staircase. On the second floor (in their opinion, it is still the first) there is already a place to disperse. On the second floor, you can see everything - massive furniture, paintings, even a stuffed fox. And it's all nailed to the ceiling. The "chair of a real Hutsul" attracts the most attention of tourists.

This is a very popular place among tourists. In addition to the house-turned-shrew, there is a large market of souvenirs and local products - all kinds of herbs, teas, honey, roots, mushrooms, and drinks.

The Inverted House is located near the Yaremche-Bukovel highway. There are regular buses from Yaremche to the resort town of Bukovel. You can also get here by your own car.

The ticket price is 150 UAH. It includes a visit to four locations: The Inverted House, Bandera's hideout, the Museum of Illusions, and Crooked Mirrors.
